Registration Fees False Alarm Fines Appeal Process

Annual Registration/Renewal Fees:

  1. Residential: $25

  2. Commercial: $50
All renewal invoices will be due within 30 days from the invoice date or the permit expiration date whichever is greater.

Registration Duration and Renewal:

  1. All registrations are valid for one (1) year and must be renewed annually.

Registration Transfer:

  1. Registrations cannot be transferred from one location to another or one person to another person with the exception of transfer to an immediate family member in the interest of the property for which registration has been issued.

Late fee for Registration or Renewal:

  1. NA

Billing Type:

  1. All false alarms will be accumulated and will be charged in the rolling 12 month period. False alarm counter will reset to zero if 12 months have passed without any false alarms unless suspended.
False Alarm Fines - Burglary/Robbery/Panic - Residential/Commercial:


Registered/Unregistered/Expired Location:


1st to 3rd false alarm : No fine

4th to 5th false alarm : $50.00

6th to 7th false alarm : $75.00

8th false alarm and above : $100.00 each

Late fee for False Alarms:

  1. NA

Note:

  1. All false alarm invoices will be due within 30 days from the invoice date.

  2. Multiple false alarms within the rolling 24 hours from the time of the first false alarm are counted as one.

  3. For locations identified as unregistered, PM AM will send the false alarm invoice (if applicable) and a notice providing the requirements for the registration of permit.
  1. Alarm user has a right to appeal the false alarm fine.

  2. Appeal request must be submitted to PM AM in writing within 30 days from the date of notification of such fine.

  3. Appeal fee: None

  4. Appeal must be entitled "Appeal from Alarm Administrator's Action"

  5. PM AM will forward all documents provided by the Alarm user to the City’s Alarm Administrator for review and appeal processing. The City’s Alarm Administrator will inform PM AM of any adjustments which need to be made on the account once the appeal decision has been completed.

  6. PM AM will notify the citizen of the appeal decision through the available means of correspondence.

Non-Compliance Suspension Reinstatement Process

Alarm User:

  1. NA

Alarm Installing/Monitoring Company:

  1. NA

Excessive False Alarms:

  1. 8 or more false burglar alarms at residential, commercial or government property within the rolling 12 month period.

  2. (Suspension will not be done automatically.)

  3. PM AM will send out a suspension notice along with the outstanding invoices if any at the time of manual suspension.

Excessive False Alarms:

  1. Pay all outstanding fines. (if any)

  2. Provide a work order from the alarm company indicating that the alarm system has been inspected or repaired if necessary.
Note:
  1. The false alarm counter will reset to zero after the suspension is lifted.

  1. All City, State, Federal buildings including but not limited to Public schools, parks etc. will not be required to pay the annual registration fee and will not be charged for false alarm fines.
Note:
  1. A written warning notice will be issued to exempt location if the location has more than 5 false alarms within the calendar month.
